This project is structured to be built around the community – without opinion blog posts, articles, and activist updates via the home page and political discussion, reform planning, and activist campaign initiatives via the forum – there would be no LiveFreeOrDie.com. Because the community is structured this way, all members are encouraged not just to help plan activism, but to regularly participate in publishing articles, news stories, blog posts, and any content related to politics, the liberty movement, and activism.
Members are welcome to publish as frequently as they desire, be it occasionally, weekly, or often. We encourage users knowledgeable in specific topics to make those topics their personal niche.
If you’re interested in writing for us, feel free, and complete the following steps:
- Create an account. This is obviously the first step. By default, accounts can post in the forum and comment on the blog, but cannot publish new pages, articles, or blog posts. You can, however, write and manage your own posts, which will remain hidden until they are approved.
- Check our content guidelines to make sure your post will be approved. We encourage certain content and prohibit certain topics. Note that our Writing, Blogging, and Journalism forum offers additional recommendations, tips, tutorials, and discussion.
- Contact us to request approval once your post is finished, proofread, and you’ve confirmed it met the content guidelines. In the email include your username and the specific post title you’re seeking approval for.
- Wait for your post to be approved. Currently there is no email notification upon approval. However, if your post is denied, you’ll receive a notification with the reason why and suggested changes; once the changes are made, you may resubmit the post by email request. Once enough quality posts have been made, users may apply for editor status, which will give them the ability to publish posts themselves, without administrative approval. Users may also be given editor status if they post exceptionally high quality work or enter pre-negotiation with the administration.
Important notes:
- Content Guidelines and Tutorials: The content guidelines outline what content is allowed and what content is specifically disallowed. The Writing, Blogging, and Journalism forum provides tips, discussion, and ideas for writing, but it also provides tutorials on how set the post technicalities, such as the featured image, tags, and recommended method of categorization.
- Deviations Once Published: We will never rewrite your post, but we will make edits for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. We may also add or remove the featured image and images within the post, may add post tags, and may re-categorize your post if we feel such changes are appropriate.
- Editor Status: Editor status allows you to publish posts on your own, without administrative screening. We encourage users to apply for this status once they’ve made around five or more posts. We are looking for writers who are willing to publish consistently (once or twice a week, for example), as well as for writers to write about specific topics (such as survivalism, internet security, election news, etc.).
If you have any additional questions about contributing through writing for us, don’t hesitate to ask us.
